I guess this is a face that only a mother could love.

This close-up provides a good look at a mole's teeth. It's clear that moles mean business! If you want to trap them successfully, stick with the basics.

1. Control your perimeter. If you don't let moles cross into your yard, your yard will remain undamaged.

2. Set traps on active tunnels. Once you notice mole activity along the perimeter of your yard, set as many traps as is necessary. Check them daily. If moles are moving away from your traps, relocate your traps to where you see the most recent activity.

3. When you kill a mole, reset the trap in the exact same location. You know the tunnel is active, and it is likely that you will kill additional moles at that same spot.
